Notoriety and Achievements

The Department of Anthropology is known throughout the state, region, nation and world for its achievements in the field of Anthropology.

Anthropologists at Ohio State University:

  • Are on editorial boards of major journals - American Journal of Physical Anthropology; Journal of Human Evolution
  • Serve on NSF panels - Physical Anthropology Doctoral Dissertation Improvement (McGraw); Cultural Anthropology Doctoral Dissertation Improvement (Cohen); and Committee of Visitors (Larsen)
  • Are officers in major national societies and associations - President of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists (Larsen); President of the Dental Anthropology Association (Guatelli-Steinberg); and President of the Society of Economic Anthropology (Cohen)
