Picture Cave: Unraveling the Mysteries of the Mississippian Cosmos

Carol Diaz-Granados
Research Associate in the Department of Anthropology at Washington University in St. Louis

Only rarely do we have a glimpse into the lives of prehistoric societies via their art and symbolism.  Dr. Diaz-Granados gives a fascinating presentation on Picture Cave, a cavern in eastern Missouri containing many pictographs, images of the ancient past from one of the most important archaeological sites in North America.

This lecture is made possible by a generous endowment from alumna Elizabeth (Betsy) Salt (MA, anthropology, 1975). This event is free and open to the public. RSVP required to Wayne Miller: miller.1044@osu.edu.
