You are important to the department’s continuing success. The research of our faculty and students extends worldwide. The faculty continues its research while maintaining teaching excellence. Although faculty and students continue to attract support from nationally recognized sponsors, this support only partially meets our needs.

Many supporters of The Ohio State University do not know that they can contribute directly to the Department of Anthropology. Ohio Archaeology Research Fund
The Ohio Archaeology Research Fund supports research on settlement patterns and community organization of prehistoric societies in the Ohio River drainage. Of particular interest are Adena and Hopewell sites.

The Bourguignon Scholarship/Lecture Fund, honoring Dr. Erika Bourguignon and the memory of Paul-Henri Bourguignon, supports lectures and scholarships.

Paleoanthropology and Evolutionary Ecology Research Fund
The Paleoanthropology and Evolutionary Ecology Research Fund funds overseas fossil excavations, publication costs and conference travel. A portion funds graduate and undergraduate student research.

The Daniel Hughes Memorial Fund in memory of Dr. Daniel Hughes, supports student travel to present papers at professional meetings.

Teaching and research equipment needs include computers and printers, centrifuges, microscopes, photographic equipment and supplies, and binoculars. Perhaps you can facilitate beneficial purchase arrangements or donate a specialized skill.
