Clark Larsen Named Member of the National Academy of Sciences

Clark Larsen.
On behalf of the College of Arts and Sciences, please join me in congratulating Professor Clark Larsen on his recent election as a Member of the National Academy of Sciences. Established by an Act of Congress in 1863, the NAS is charged with providing independent, objective advice to the nation on matters related to science and technology. Members are elected by their peers for outstanding contributions to research.

This is a singular honor for Professor Larsen, as he joins a truly distinguished group of leaders in the pursuit of scientific knowledge. Since its inception during the height of the Civil War, only 101 other anthropologists have been named to the NAS.

Congratulations, Clark Larsen!

Janet M. Box-Steffensmeier
Divisional Dean of Social & Behavioral Sciences
