Faculty Advocate for Social and Behavioral Science on Capitol Hill
Julie Field (anthropology) and Darla Munroe (geography) participated in Social and Behavioral Science Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. Along with Linda Trautman (Ohio University) and Dan Newlon (former director, economics program, NSF), they met with staff from the offices of Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-OH) and Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH). They discussed Ohio State research, NSF’s peer review process and the importance of maintaining social and behavioral science research in Ohio and at the national level.
