Rob Cook and collaborators awarded 2 major grants

Rob Cook and his collaborators have been informed of the award of two major grants for their work in Mexico.  The two grants support the study of household composition in Tlaxcala, one of the few states to resist Aztec domination in Mexico.  The projects involves both geophysical survey and extensive excavation and will run from 2015 to 2017.  The grants are:

“Tlaxcalla Archaeology Project: Homes, Terraces, and Government in the Late Postclassic.”  National Science Foundation (~$230,000).  PI: Richard Blanton.  Co-PIs: Lane F. Fargher, Robert A. Cook, Verenice Y. Heredia Espinoza, John K. Millhauser, Aurelio López Corral, and

"Proyecto Arqueológico de Tlaxcallan. Hogares, Terrazas y Gobernanza en el Posclásico Tardío.”  INVESTIGACIÓN CIENTÍFICA BÁSICA 2014, Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología de México.  $2,367,645.00 M.N. ($157,528 USD) PI: Lane F. Fargher.  Co-PIs: Robert A. Cook, Verenice Y. Heredia Espinoza, John K. Millhauser, Aurelio López Corral.
