The Student Founder Journey, a season of episodes presented by the Keenan Center for Entrepreneurship, follows the bold entrepreneurial pursuits of students and young alumni at The Ohio State University. In this episode, we are joined by Tessa Cannon and Madee Green from For the Love of Primates.

For the Love of Primates is part of the first-ever President’s Buckeye Accelerator. Six student ventures were chosen for the year-long accelerator to advance their startup for launch with a $50,000 award.  

For the Love of Primates is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that seeks to provide lifelong care for primates retired from laboratory research. Cannon, a graduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences, founded For the Love of Primates. She is supported by fellow College of Arts and Sciences student Madee Green. They aim to collaborate with research professionals to make primate retirement ethical and sustainable.   

In this episode, Cannon and Green give insight into the journey of starting For the Love of Primates, building a diverse team, leveraging mentorship, and building a business while pursuing a degree. The episode is hosted by Jack Considine, an undergraduate student in the Fisher College of Business.
