Prior to graduation, F-1 students may work off campus with Curricular Practice Training (CPT). Optional Practical Training (OPT) gives students hands-on experience in their major and may be completed during or within 30 days after their program of study. We will hear from two OSU students who successfully secured CPT or OPT experiences. Amanda Yusko, U.S. Immigration Specialist within the Office of International Affairs will also join the conversation, offering a guidance from an immigration compliance perspective. This event is open to all ASC grad students and postdocs. Presenters Chengwei Chen is a first-year PhD student in Sociology who worked as a news reporter with OPT between 2021-2022. Ruining Qian is a third-year graduate student in Landscape Architecture who began working as a design intern with CPT in Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks in May 2022. Amanda Yusko is a US Immigration Specialist; Program Manager of International student service at OIA.
