We are pleased to highlight a new article published by members of our department in the American Journal of Biological Anthropology!

Authored by PhD candidate Kaita Gurian and faculty members Dr. Guatelli-Steinberg and Dr. McGraw, as well as their co-authors Jess Rychel and Dr. O'Hara, the article considers the following:

“Sharing micro-computed tomographic (μCT) scans of teeth increases data accessibility and reduces the need for repeated scans of any given specimen. However, the use of the same TIFF stacks or DICOMs by multiple individuals has the potential to introduce new sources of error. Here, we explore whether use of the same μCT scans by different persons produces comparable results.”

The full article is available via open access on the American Journal of Biological Anthropology’s website.
