New Article in Social Science & Medicine!

We are thrilled to highlight a new article published by faculty, graduate, and undergrdaduate students in Social Science & Medicine!
In their new article Moore et al. spotlight how TikTok is transforming the way parents of children with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) share their caregiving journeys. The authors explore how parents use short videos to make visible the emotional and physical toll of managing their child’s chronic illness. From tearful site changes to moments of toddler triumph, these videos reveal the deep interconnection— “interembodiment”—between parent and child. They show how touch, technology, and trauma intertwine in daily diabetes care, and how social media becomes a space for advocacy, solidarity, and healing.
