Dr. Habiba Chirchir presents at the American Museum of Natural History’s Sci Café!

On March 5th, Dr. Habiba Chirchir delivered a public lecture as part of the American Museum of Natural History’s Sci Café series, sponsored by the Leakey Foundation!
Dr. Chirchir discussed why she considers modern humans to be morphologically “unremarkable”. She examined the evidence from the human fossil record showing an emergence of ‘light’ bodies late our in our prehistory at the advent of domestication, only in the last 10,000 years. She further explored evidence from the dog family suggesting that domestic dogs also seem to show ‘light’ bodies likely related to the effects of the domestication process. The lecture was attended by over 400 people.
Congratulations Dr. Chirchir! What an incredible opportunity!
