Jude Snowden Wins 3rd Place in the Office of Outreach and Engagement's Graduate Student Poster Contest!
Jude Snowden recently presented at the Office of Outreach and Engagement's annual Graduate Student Poster Competition which is part of their Community Partnership Breakfast. Jude's poster, which won third place in the competition, presented their master's practicum work. This project focused on using ethnography and plate waste measurement to understand the relationship between immigrant children and the food served to them in a non-profit summer camp. Their findings enabled the non-profit to decrease food waste by 50% through the introduction of hot food, fresh fruit, and encouraging teachers in the program to foster positive interactions with students in the lunchroom.
On behalf of the Department of Anthropology, congratulations Jude!
