We are excited to announce that PhD Candidate Kaita Gurian has been selected as a recipient of OSU’s Alumni Grant for Graduate Research and Scholarship!  

Kaita’s dissertation will assess the degree to which features of developing teeth in children are affected by known stressors experienced by their mothers during pregnancy, developing new methodology of assessment and better contextualizing dental indicators of health. Her research derives from a clinical subsample of human baby teeth from the “Stories Teeth Record of Newborn Growth” (STRONG) study run by Dr. Erin Dunn at Harvard University. This grant will cover travel to Massachusetts General Brigham to collect data for her dissertation.
