Undergraduate students are required to take one elective course, which can be:

  1. A topical course that focuses on a particular set of wicked problems (e.g., gender inequality, climate change)
  2. A methods course for studying wicked problems (e.g., systems modeling, community- based research)
  3. A skills-development course for wicked scientists (e.g., leadership, business management)

Below are some examples of electives that would count towards the certificate program. Students can petition that other courses can be used as an elective.
